Mister Soju Man

On Sunday we took in the Lantern Festival in Seoul near Insadong to mark the beginning of the celebrations of Buddha's Birthday. I think I've been here too long when in a metropolis city of 22 million, I know every second person. Okay, so I am exagerating, but I did meet a lot of people that I knew. And I also had some unfriendly encounters as well. Take soju man #1 for example. We were at the beginning of Insadong checking out some phamplets and along comes mister soju man who goes behind a fence to take a dump. Now is this humane!?? I think not. And neither was the stench that came out of him. We ran away before it could get worse! Soju man #2 was a little more gentler on the nose. I was sitting on the street side taking random pictures of nothing and along comes mister soju man #2, thinking that I was taking pictures of him. He goes to hit me, but couldn't reach me and ened up flicking dirty ashes from his cigeratte that he probably picked up on the street. He muttered something not so nice in Koran and walked on again. Okay so aside from those incidents, I had a nice day. The weather was awesoome and Mary and Hannah and I took in the booths of the festival. Mary ended up going home and so Hannah and I went to dinner in Insadong before taking in the parade. The parade was nice, but so long. Once you've seen one thing, you've seen it all. We left halfway through as it was getting late and sleepy time was setting in.
